In Battle Ground alone, the City converted approximately 2,300 street lights using a combination of a state grant and utility incentives totaling around $530,000. These LED fixtures consume nearly 50% less energy and require less maintenance, allowing the city to reduce its annual energy and upkeep costs by about $68,000—$53,000 in electricity savings and $15,000 in maintenance. The energy savings are being applied to repay the low-interest loan and build a reserve fund for future lighting projects.
